eBay Leaving CJ
March 17, 2008
Looks like it's going to be a busy April for me. eBay sent out an email today letting affiliates know they will be bringing their affiliate program in-house beginning April 1st and we will have until May 1st to transition our links.
I'm using the rover links on my sites that promote eBay, and those will have to be changed manually. I'm also making heavy use of the RSS feed with various scripts and plug-ins, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that changing those will be as painless as changing the CJ PID to a new eBay one.
Still, this is a lot of work, and only a month to do it.
While I'll be busy, I suspect the various eBay affiliate script providers will be even more busy!
And I sure hope they'll keep direct deposit, and not just for U.S. affiliates, either.
Update: Forgot to post the eBay link - you can read about it on eBay's blog here.
And here are some forum discussions of the situation: ABestWeb and eBay Affiliate Discussion Forum.
