Catching Up, and Popshops

It's been a while since I last posted, but I'm still here! It's been a busy busy summer for me on the affiliate marketing side of things - I've been spending my time working on some of my affiliate sites that have been doing well, since it occurred to me that it truly was leaving money on the table to spread myself too thin. Especially since I have a handful of sites that have good conversion rates.
I'm more or less burned out with the whole blogging thing, so over the summer I ended up outsourcing all my money-making blogs. I also eliminated the pressure of blogging regularly at my "for fun" blogs, which had the wonderful effect of turning them all back into "for fun".
I ended up turning on moderation for comments here at Adventures. I think this blog was starting to look a bit abandoned, and nearly every day I had to unpublish spam comments. I've been noticing that comment spammers particularly like to target blogs that look "abandoned".
The bad news is that my Adsense income has dropped by over 50%. I'm getting more impressions, more clicks, but the amount that I've been making per click has plummeted. Sad. The good news is that my affiliate sales have really picked up, and this has more than made up for the decrease in my Adsense income.
I'm feeling really ready for this holiday season. And I made my first sale yesterday via Popshops, which was nice. If you haven't given Popshops a try, they have a 15 day trial period. I'm signed up for the Pro version, which lets you use SEO-friendly PHP code in your sites.
I'm not sure how regularly I'll be blogging here again. As you probably have already figured out by now, Adventures is a "for fun" blog for me. And I intend to keep it that way!
