Outsourcing Smarts
May 17, 2007
I've just had a rather "duh" moment. If you've been reading this blog for a while, you'll know that I've been outsourcing some of my content to my assistant.
The thing is, I've been outsourcing work that's related to websites that target Adsense as the primary income source.
But the other day, I was looking at my "income hierarchy" - where I get my profits from. From most to least, they are:
1. Affiliate marketing.
2. Site advertising.
3. Adsense.
And recently I've been so busy working on creating content for my new, value-oriented, passion-driven sites, I haven't had any time to devote to my affiliate sites.
I have a few shopping blogs that continue to make me decent change every month, even though they haven't been updated in ages.
So yesterday I had my "duh" moment. It maikes sense to outsource that work.
Right now, my outsourcing is paying for itself, with a small bit of profit left for me. Hopefully, adding this work to my outsourcing list will add to that profit!

How do you find good outsourcing resources? I'd really like to pay someone to do some writing for me, but I'm not sure where to start.

I got really lucky with my assistant. A friend of mine works for a government employment center - she conducts training centers, and helps people find jobs. My assistant attended one of her seminars, and my friend thought she was a perfect fit for my business. I actually wasn't even looking for someone to contract out work to, but after I met with her, I realized she definitely was a good fit.
I'd recommend posting jobs at your local college. Or you can go online at places like elance. I've never used them before, but I know others have, and it usually (not always!) turns out well.
