That Passion Thing

A while ago, I started up one of the sites that I've been thinking about for a long time. This site is in an area I'm very passionate about.
And you know, from the time I started online, I've heard it said over and over again: Find something you're passionate about and develop a site around it.
Not that I ever really did that. I just heard it a lot, that's all.
But now I can say that I'm doing it, and there's a certain powerful ease about it.
It's very unlike building a site about something you're really not that interested in, but hey, you're smart, a quick learner, and you've gotten yourself up-to-speed with the information you need to know. (Been there, done that ... many, many times.)
This time, I've stepped up to the plate, and just plunged in. And I am so surprised by how easy it all is.
It's been fun and easy writing the content.
It's been fun and easy promoting the site.
It's been fun and easy tweaking the design, adding a bit of this, a bit of that.
Nothing about the site is really a chore. I look forward to working on it.
Okay, to be absolutely honest, I'm having a blast.
Now, if I could just make money from it.
(But seriously, it's looking good. It's already beating out some of my underachieving sites in terms of income.)
That passion thing. I guess they weren't kidding about that.

Theres a certain powerful ease that comes with building a site around a topic you are passionate about. Then Ros shows that chasing the almighty dollar doesnt always work.

Passion is such an important factor in marketing, and is often dismissed as "a great concept, but not practical."
You've shown that 'this passion thing' really does live up to it's reputation. I love how you share how fun and easy it is running this site. Congrats!! Let's spread the word!!
