I'm Itching to Get Started!

January 14, 2007

Every now and then in the past few weeks I've been popping online to catch the conversations going on and keep up to date on stuff, and I must say, I am so envious. The new year is so motivating, and lots of people have been roaring off to a good start.

Me, in the meantime? From November to January are my busiest months in my offline business. It's quite a chaotic time and while this season it's been much better than in the past - due both to the help of my fantastic new assistant and the increase I experienced in 2006 in my online income - it's still been quite busy.

So I've been chomping at the bit, so to speak :)

The one very nice thing about being so busy is that I virtually overflow with ideas. It's always been this way with me, and this year I took full advantage by making notes about every idea. I don't know if I'll have the time to follow through on all of them, but I'm definitely itching to get started.

After this coming week, my deadlines will go back to normal. I am really looking forward to that!

So, on my list:

1. Revamping several sites. These are all sites that have great potential, but right now they're just sitting there with a bit of content and not much else. I have several makeover ideas, so I'm going to go through them a site at a time.

2. More Adwords, using the Campaign Blasts method.

3. Going full steam ahead with two HUGE online projects I'm putting together with two very close friends of mine.

4. Going over every single good "make money" report I bought in 2006, and putting each one into action. (Just the good ones, though. And once you've been online for a while, it is VERY easy to see at a glance which ones are the good ones and which ones are the not so good ones.)

5. Actually USING all the software I bought in 2006, putting them through the paces and putting them to work for me.

6. Focusing on getting more automated while at the same time continuing to provide solid content. I personally think this is THE way I'm going to make my goals this year.

7. Locking in on the streams of income concept. 2006 truly gave me a taste of the multiple streams of income approach. I can still remember my amazement when I finally got around to putting together a spreadsheet and keeping track of all my income, right down to all those random smallish Paypal amounts coming in for various programs. I gained a lot of perspective with that exercise, and now I know that even the smallest projects can, and often do, have a continuing value.

Edit (almost forgot this one):
8. Building lists. I've finally gotten my head around the whole list building thing, something that I had great resistance to at first. I really feel now that building lists, and good list relationships, can play a huge role in online marketing. (To which a lot of you are probably thinking, well, yeah - tell me something new. But for some reason, I was just so resistant to the idea and now I'm not.)

This post has helped me scratch my itch a little bit. Now, back to my regularly scheduled deadlines!

I know what you mean about list. I'm slowly coming around to them myself. I know you can make money without list, but I'm beginning to believe you can make a lot of money a lot faster with list.

One of my 2007 goals is to start building list!

Don, that's my thinking exactly. And the thing is, I've known this since I started affiliate marketing - an offline friend of mine, who actually got me interested in all of this, has been working full-time online for the past three years, and he manages to do this with one site, a couple of products, and a good-sized list. But for some reason, I've been very resistant to building lists.

Now, though, I'm ready to take things to the next level, and very clearly, lists need to be part of my plan!
