Revamping Some Existing Sites

October 03, 2006

I have a couple of existing sites that have been languishing for a while. They have (I personally think) fabulous domain names, so I decided to do something a little different with them.

I've turned them into online magazines and all I can say is - is this ever fun! I have been zealously going through reprint articles every day and it's been an absolute blast. I had a few sites like these early on but I kind of let them slide. I may just dust those off, too. But the subject matter of these newly revamped sites are much closer to where my passions and interests lie. I think that explains the "having fun" part a lot.

I've got a system of sorts set up (because I've decided that I have too few systems and too many things on my to-do list) and it's been working great.

As far as monetization goes, well, these sites obviously weren't cutting the grade before I started fidgeting with them, so if I make a few pennies more with them now that they've been given a new mission statement, that's all for the good. Right now I've just got Adsense on my pages, but my goal is to get my readership up (she says, looking at the stat counts of <0) and perhaps eventually get some monthly ad or sponsorship income.
