Making Use of My Time

Now that I've had a few full days to get back into the flow of working on my sites, I've been thinking a lot about making the best use of my time.
(And by the way, thanks to all of you who missed me during my two breaks in July. The first break was unexpected, restorative and just had to be taken, but I think I probably broke blogger etiquette in not posting about the second, scheduled, break - my holidays!)
Anyway, it occurred to me today that I really don't have big chunks of time to devote to all my online stuff. I've been trying to figure out how much time I do spend each day on my sites, and I think it averages out to around 7 to 8 hours most days, except the weekends when I don't do as much. But it definitely doesn't FEEL like that much time.
The problem is, I never really have a good solid chunk of time to do stuff, except at night, when my first priority is getting my blogging done. Otherwise, I tend to accomplish things in snippets of time that I grab here and there. This is especially so when I'm on deadline for my offline work.
So what happens is that I end up feeling disorganized - especially when my to-do list is made up of a ton of new sites that have to be put up. I do have things streamlined to a point, but still, it's disorienting to put up a new site using snippets of time.
I've decided to try a new tactic. Blogging can be done, and quite well, I might add, in snippets of time. So it makes sense for me to fit my blogging in throughout the day. That leaves me a solid chunk of time most nights to work on my sites, and especially to flesh out the ones that are now live but very empty.
But really, if I did have 8 hours, say, from 9 to 5, to spend on my online stuff every day (you know, like a real j*b), I bet I wouldn't get half as much done as I do right now. My system works, it just needs a bit of tweaking.
