Going Low-Tech: Pen and Paper Day Today

August 05, 2006

I have a few sites that are doing okay in terms of traffic, and I keep having this nagging feeling that I am not using them to the best of their potential. I want to add more affiliate links, but I've not been certain exactly how I should go about doing it.

So today, I got a bit sick of staring at the computer screen (plus it's the weekend, stale-feeling inside and nice and breezy-ish in the shade outside) so I decided to grab a notepad and different colored pens. Very low tech, and it felt good.

I'm finding that the brainstorming process is much easier using pen and paper. I've got a few ideas, and I've been drawing up all sorts of diagrams, many of which could work. Some of them are pretty far out to lunch, but I'm saving them, too, because they might not be so ludicrous for other sites.

I'm feeling like I have a handle now on what I'm going to do with at least one of the sites.

And my eyes are saying thank you! As is the rest of me, loving lounging outside without having to worry about balancing that laptop.

I think I'm going to start scheduling low tech days on a regular basis.
