Uncertain About Article Miner?

April 20, 2006

If you've been thinking about getting Article Miner, but have been uncertain, this is just a quick post to let you know that the creators of the program have decided to cap sales, and Article Miner will no longer be available for purchase effective May 1, 2006.

They will continue to provide support and regular database updates, as well as keeping the forum open. Article Miner is a good program if you republish a lot of articles from different article sites, so you might want to check into it before the end of this month. I've also written a review of Article Miner that might be helpful if you're trying to decide.

Just curious if your article reprint sites have made any money, it seems that a lot of my reprint pages get filtered fairly fast from the search engines.

Brent, the sites in which I place reprint articles do make Adsense money, but I don't really have any site that is primarily an article reprint site. I tend to use reprint articles in sites along with my own original articles, and I also don't like to republish a reprint article "as is" - I will either split it into two or three parts, to make up two or three pages, and/or add in boxes with an "editor's intro" and "sidebars" and sometimes a "conclusion".

When I split up an article, I give the author a link from each page the article ends up appearing on, so for example, the first half of the article will sport a "by so-and-so", where so-and-so is a live link to the author's site. Then the second half of the article will end with the bio box.

This all does take a bit more work, but so far there seems to be more staying power for me in republishing the articles this way.
