Decision-making and the Internet
April 21, 2006
Here's an interesting survey by Pew Internet & American Life Project that might help get the creative juices flowing when it comes to planning your next major content site. The survey, entitled The Internet's Growing Role in Life's Major Moments (pdf file), found that 45% of Internet users (about 60 million Americans) pointed to the Internet as a tool to help them make major life decisions. And what decisions did the Internet help the most with?"For the five decisions that people have most likely confronted in the past two years - buying a car, making a major financial decision, helping someone deal with a major health matter, choosing a college, or getting additional career training - 39% of internet users, or roughly 53 million people, said the internet played a crucial or important role in at least one of those decisions."More to add to the creative mill!
