Time Sure Flies When You're Having Fun
February 10, 2006
It really does! I looked at my calendar just now (I have a lovely mandala-a-day one sitting on my desk that I keep forgetting to rip the pages off of) and it hit me - we're almost halfway into February already.
And then I realized I haven't posted here since January.
Well, I actually wasn't having fun most of the time. I was knee deep in my offline deadlines, but the good news is that the busy season is up now (for me, the busy season starts around September/October, and doesn't let up until February/March). It's good news in terms of having more time. My bank account wouldn't necessarily agree, though, and now is usually the time when I look at my nice part-time income from all my online stuff and wish it was more of a full-time income.
But this past week I've had a lot of time to get moving on some of my affiliate site ideas, and that's been a whole lot of fun. There've been the same techie glitches which keep coming up, but I really think I'm finally at the stage where I've actually seen those glitches before (usually many times before) and the solution is right there (because I've had to search for it so many times before). Which does make things go faster.
My Adsense income has been doing well - generally improving every day, although I still get the oddest downs (and the occasional up, which I don't mind at all). I've been finding the affiliate income is definitely lagging behind, so I think I'll be putting on my thinking cap in the next few months to try and figure out ways I can get that on the upswing.
Like everyone else (yes, I'm talking to you - I'm sure many of you have thought about it, too), I've been thinking about writing my own infoproduct. The only thing I'm stumped on is, "What can I write about?" I know the gurus tell us to be great underachievers and hop on over to Elance and hire a writer or two to spit out some ebooks and make quick and easy money, but I never did get around to buying any of those courses or ebooks, so I guess I'm still in the "I want to write it myself" mode.
And finally, this year I'm veering back into passion. I'm getting a little bit tired of working on niche topics all the time, and I've been thinking it would be nice to have some sites that are more about the things I love and am really interested in. You know, like the stuff they show on SBI's passion page.
Hey! I finally worked an SBI affiliate link into one of my posts! Seriously, though, I've been reading Steve Pavlina as usual, and it's very exciting to think about growing a site the way he's been doing, writing about what I love.
Why is it I feel like it's the start of the new year right now?

I hope that means I might see ya online a bit more often, I so miss chatting with you! Isn't it nice to be on the high end (somewhat) of the curve? To not be completely overwhelmed anymore?
Glad to hear you're back on track!
Tara :)

Thanks, Tara! I still have deadlines, but there definitely aren't as many. I hope I'll get back to a regular posting schedule here :)
