Manually Install Wordpress - Audio Visual Tutorial
January 23, 2006
I've been busy this past week, rushing to set up lots of new sites while I have some time away from my offline deadlines. And as is usually the case whenever I'm working on this end of things - setting up sites - it seems like everything I do, Murphy's Law just has to make an appearance.
Techie stuff and me don't always get along, to say the least.
So, in the course of getting used to a new host and setting up several new blogs using Wordpress 2.0, I found myself having to install the previous version of Wordpress, version 1.5.2.
Now, I'm one who actually won't sign up for a webhost unless I get one-click install of Wordpress. So the idea of manually installing the older version of Wordpress on one site because Wordpress 2.0 was giving me a bit of trouble, well, let's just say it was rather daunting.
Until, that is, Teli directed me to her audio visual presentation/tutorial on installing Wordpress.
I watched her tutorial, and then created my mySQL database and installed the previous Wordpress file very very quickly.
So, if you need to manually install Wordpress, whether the latest 2.0 version or an older version, and you don't have a clue what to do - watch Teli's tutorial. As long as you can FTP files, and your host has cpanel, you should be fine.
