Sandboxed!

October 01, 2005

I'm not sure why I always do this - you'd think I'd know better by now. But I'll put up a new site and get a bit on the ecstatic side when Google starts sending me visitors for the keywords I'm targeting.

Then, inevitably, within a couple of weeks, the visits slow to a trickle as the site hits the sandbox. Really, I should save my celebrations for when a site emerges from the sandbox. Not that I don't celebrate when that happens, but somehow it never seems as exciting as getting indexed and getting that first batch of pre-sandbox visitors.

I've been thinking about putting up a simple homepage for every domain I register from now on, with a pointer to the new page from another of my domains ... that way, the site itself will get indexed before I've even started working on it.

It's worth a thought ...
