Hey, Did I Just Ping or Not?

I just came across an interesting post at Blog Marketing, Blog Promotion for Newbies on finding out whether your post actually pinged all those URLs the way it was supposed to.
I can usually tell when I'm posting directly from a MovableType or a Typepad blog whether I'm pinging - or at least, there's the appearance of pinging! - but with Wordpress it's much harder to tell, except that, generally speaking, the longer the ping list, the longer it seems to take my post page to reload.
(Now that I'm using ecto, though, it's been pretty good - ecto actually has a little line running along the bottom that tells you which ping URL it's pinging at the moment.)
Anyway, Mark points us to Pingomation, a tip which he picked up from a post that Teli made in a marketing forum.
Pretty handy if you've been staying up late at night worrying about stuff like that.
