Creative Commons Content

October 05, 2005

Everywhere you go these days (in the Internet marketing world, that is), all you hear people talking about is content, content and more content.

(When they're not talking about traffic, traffic and more traffic, that is.)

We can write our own articles, or publish reprint articles, or outsource our articles. Another place to look for content is among Creative Commons material.

I just came across this great article by Laura Gordon-Murnane. The article discusses materials in the public domain, and Creative Commons materials. The article also leads you through aspects of copyright law, and explains what the Creative Commons licenses are all about.

Also included on the page is a handy sidebar of browsing directories, including not only text but also images and video.

Definitely a helpful content resource - one that's found its way into my bookmarks.
