Google Sitemap: Wendy's Experiment in Progress

The latest Google news is the Google Sitemap:
Help people discover more of your web pages.
Google Sitemaps is an easy way for you to help improve your coverage in the Google index. It's a collaborative crawling system that enables you to communicate directly with Google to keep us informed of all your web pages, and when you make changes to these pages.
With Google Sitemaps you get:
* Better crawl coverage to help people find more of your web pages
* Fresher search results
* A smarter crawl because you can provide specific information about all your web pages, such as when a page was last modified or how frequently a page changes
I was just over at Wendy's blog, and she's been busy experimenting with Google's Sitemap. She has a site she put up a few weeks ago that has 90 of its 300 pages indexed so far, and she's going to see whether the sitemap XML file she's created will have an effect on how quickly the remaining pages get indexed.
I'll be keeping my eye out - hopefully she'll get some good results. Mind you, I'm not likely going to be able to "whip up a good php script" to create my XML file. I had a hard enough time keeping my brain cells from breaking down in tears when I read through Google's explanation detailing how to use its free Sitemap Generator.
Sigh. Yet another learning curve coming up?

It'd be great if this thing helps get pages indexed faster. All of my newer pages are indexed already, and it was pretty quick, but not all of the older ones are in Google yet. I haven't talked to you in awhile, how are your sites coming?

Things have been going pretty well with some sites, but adsense went down (as in DOWN) for a few others. I've been busy with offline deadlines this past week, too :(

I gotta say, while I absolutely love what I do, I find it so overwhelming at times too... so much to learn, so much changes and its not easy to keep up LOL
Oh and most recently I hate WordPress and it hates me back I am sure ;)

Chrissie, I know that feeling with Wordpress. Wordpress kept telling me, "learn php" "learn php" "more php" "more more php" "get a grip on css" "come on, get with your css and php, okay???" :)
But I'm pleased to say that we've repaired our relationship and right now love each other. For now. LOL
