So Much For the "Holiday Weekend" Idea

May 30, 2005

I’ve been away from the computer all day because of “family stuff” (my sister comes over every other Monday afternoon. She’s a gourmet cook – she cooks and we chat and then we feast …can’t say I regret the time away from the computer.)

It looks like PageRank is back. The Googleguy chimed in at Webmaster Forum (last post on this page) to reassure people this was just normal maintenance stuff scheduled for the holiday weekend when it was expected people would be doing other stuff (and wouldn’t notice?).

Obviously, the Internet/webmastering world doesn’t go big for the idea of a holiday. (Plus it’s only a holiday in the United States.)

Other news: My transferred site is now live live live! Feels good to see it up in all its new glory. The funny thing is that I had also planned on the holiday weekend being the best time to make the transfer. But I just checked my stats, and traffic is up, too.

The other funny thing is that it’s also been the best Adsense day that site has seen so far.

So much for the holiday weekend idea.

I wish my sis was a gourmet cook, really she is just a pita LOL

I've got a mass of offline deadlines this week, so no real to-do list for web stuff, I'm afraid :( I'm working to finish up a deadline right now - these "net breaks" I'm taking have really hit my productivity :)

I'm trying to talk my sister into coming every week instead of every other week. That way my family can eat well four times a month instead of twice ...

It was also a holiday in the UK, although you are right about that there are no holidays on the internet.
