Re-Structuring This Blog

I was taking a look at all my categories in this blog - and realized that they are starting to reflect my all-over-the-place way of thinking. Typepad is great, but unfortunately it's far too easy to add categories as you're posting (Wordpress makes you save your draft and go add a category, which helps to curb my impulses somewhat. I'm sure there's probably a Wordpress plugin that will let you add categories on the fly, but that would be way too tempting)
So one of my projects this week is to restructure this blog, and tidy things up somewhat.
From now on, all my ramblings about what's going on in my life as a web publisher will be found in - can you guess? ;) - Web Publisher's Life.
Also, lately I've been coming across an incredible number of resources, and I'll be sharing these finds here, too. I think this software and tools fixation is the next step in my evolution as a web publisher and marketer. I've mentioned this before - while I still like reading the occasional e-book, it's software and tools that usually have me reaching for my wallet these days. But what I've been discovering lately is that with a lot of the programs that are marketed as "Internet marketing tools", there's a good chance of finding a free or low-priced script out there that does roughly the same job.
So it's probably not going to surprise anyone that my latest bedside reading material is PHP for the World Wide Web Visual Quickstart Guide. I never really thought there'd come a day when I'd be reading a techie book in bed, but there you have it. I'm pretty fond of the Visual Quickstart Guides, actually.
Anyway, if you come by later this week and the list of categories looks strange (surprisingly shorter, let's say, although I'm not sure yet what I'm going to cut), you'll know why.

Reorganizing is good, I need to do alot of that myself this week. My lists are overflowing on the computer and the desk.

Thanks - it's definitely going to take some thinking through first. I am inclined to just jump in and plow through everything but of course, it's better if I know what I'm doing beforehand :)
