Incoming Links Guide
May 05, 2005
After posting a book and a half yesterday, I've decided to be kinder today. Short post, I promise.
I came across this great site: Incoming Links Guide. In addition to providing a primer on building your incoming links (the title kind of gives it away), the site also contains the "Directory of Directories".
This is one of the best directory of directories I've come across. It lists "593 niche, topical directories that accept outside submissions". But that's not all.
Each directory listing also tells you if the incoming link you get is a direct link or not.
I only submit links to directories that give out direct links. It's not just the whole PR thing, either. A redirected link could potentially expose your site to a 302-hijacking, intended or unintended (given the result, the intention doesn't really matter very much). The Directory of Directories makes finding directories that give out direct links a lot easier.
Other information: the cost of submitting your link (most of them are free), and directions on how to submit your link.
