Flexible Adsense Formats?
April 18, 2005
I'm a little bit late with this news, but Darren Rowse over at Problogger noticed that a few non-premium publishers have been showing Adsense ads that are a bit different from the regular run-of-the-mill ads:
Here’s the scoop. Adsense are testing a system where by the publisher not only chooses from a number of prescribed ad formats (as we currently do) but where they themselves are able to determine:
1. the ad format size
2. the number of ads to be shown in this space
If you go to Darren's post, there's a screen capture of one of these slightly different ad blocks. From what Darren's uncovered, it seems like a real possibility to me - and something that's pretty sensible. There are a lot of spaces where I could tuck in Adsense, if I had the flexibility to change the format of the ad blocks.
So here's hoping ...!
