Challenge Update

Well, I have another update on my Challenge quest. Not that much to report, actually - I just spent the past few days finishing up a truly massive offline deadline. Got it off my desk at 2:30 a.m. on Monday (Tuesday, I guess, really). So yesterday I spent my time doing various admin-type web things and just relaxing. I also visited all the other challenge participants, and ended up feeling very inspired by what everyone else is doing.
I still haven't launched the notebook site yet. But the content site now has 24 pages. Both Google and Yahoo have been by, but there are only four pages in each of the indexes. MSN finally came by two days ago, but no pages are showing up at MSN yet.
My fun site has 20 subscribers, so I'm catching those who don't know about feedreaders and RSS. I sent my first newsletter out on Sunday, so that was exciting (well, okay, maybe not). Last night I decided to add a small unobtrusive Adsense block to my pages, but wouldn't you know it - lots of PSA ads (I expected that, though, due to the nature of the site). Google still comes by regularly at this site, but Yahoo and MSN are both more sporadic. Google has all the pages in its index (except the most recent ones - I add one page per day at this site) but Yahoo and MSN both only have about half the site indexed.
I'm getting the template for my other fun site today. And my old site, the one that's been getting searches in Yahoo, still has to be moved. I'm hoping to get started on this within the next few days. In the meantime the Adsense results have been very inconsistent, to say the least.
So that's it for now. Next week I have a lot lighter offline workload so I'm hoping to get my Christmas sites up. And maybe my notebook challenge site (if I keep delaying this one, I'll have to start calling it a Christmas site!).

Hey BJ,
Glad to see you're making some progress (even if you think it's only a little - every little bit counts).
If you want to monetize those PSA ads from Google - create an alternate ad. I've actually found that taking a couple minutes to create an affiliate link with a little blurb and using that as the included ad really works :)

Geez, Teli *smacking my head* - don't know why I didn't think of that. That is absolutely perfect. I'll throw up a quick Amazon ad right now and then when I have a moment I'll see what I can find that will fit.

I am also doing a challenge. Not the $100 per day but rather 100 new pages on Mommy Portal.
I was reading your post about inconsistent Adsense stats, I am glad to hear I am not the only one. I was beginning to think it was me tweaking my ads.
