Isn't It Always the Way?

March 30, 2005

Just a quick update here. Isn't this always what happens? Accept a really cool challenge and then get sidelined by an offline deadline just when you're itching to make up for the ten days you've already missed!

I did manage to get some thinking squeezed in between pounding through this deadline. I've decided on my niches, and managed to sneak off to Wordtracker to do some preliminary research. Both niches look viable, so that's a good start.

I think I'll "unveil" one of the sites, because I've decided to just go for it, and tackle a competitive field - laptops and notebooks. I'll keep the other one under wraps for the time being, though.

Other news: I launched a "fun for me" site last month, and am still trying to figure out whether I can monetize it or not. I seem to get involved in a lot of these fun-for-me type of things, but I think a newsletter might actually work for this particular site. I've never "done" a newsletter before, so I'll have to look into that. But it occurred to me that affiliate programs are ready-made sponsors.
