If I Have to Look Another Keyword in the Eye ...

March 24, 2005

I've done the research for 7 of my planned niches and am finishing up the competition search for the 8th niche (yes, I'm multitasking again even as I blog this, or rather, blogging this IS my multi-tasking  ...). I've got another 7 niches to do, but I'm going to stop for a while because all of this keyword research is just too mindnumbing.

It's especially mindnumbing since I decided to not let myself really "look" at any of the results - when I was doing that my mind went on too many other tangents and I ended up in idea overload. I need to get this research done, not go hopping around investigating a trillion other niche possibilities, so I clamped down and decided being bored was better for now.

I've been over at Wordtracker all day for two days straight. My back is killing me, my mouse finger is kind of numb. It doesn't help that Wordtracker was awfully slow during much of the afternoon today.

On the bright side, I've also got a ton of keywords. I've already put each list through Keyword Results Analyzer (had to do something as a reward) and I've got nice lists of viable keywords, even after filtering out the thousands of low KEI results.

I think I'd better take a break and start working on actually getting some of these sites up now. (Well, okay, maybe not right now. I've still got 1400 keywords to put through the competition search).

While doing my various bits of multi-tasking, I read about Nadev's $100 a day in 12 weeks challenge. Very interesting idea. I'm rooting for him and all the other challengers - it will be nice to see them all make it.

Hey BJ,

Thanks for posting a link to the $100/day challenge (and great idea, Nadav!) - something like that can make all of this more fun and productive, plus I'm sure seeing everyone else's methods and how well they work will be an eye-opener.

Great info in your blog as always!
