Forum Roaming - Good or Bad?
January 04, 2005
I have four forums that I visit regularly - to help me out in my forum roaming, I have them prominently displayed in my Firefox Bookmarks Toolbar.
I love checking out the forums. When I get busy, I don't have time to post, but checking in makes me feel like I'm at least still on the fringe of things.
But I've been thinking today about whether forum roaming is good or bad - a time waster? Or the source of good information?
I spend a lot of time reading new posts, seeing what people have to say, learning about new products and spotting potential affiliate programs.
I think it all depends on the forums you frequent. If they're populated by helpful, knowledgeable people, then they're worth checking out, at least periodically.
I also have developed a few good relationships as a result of my forum roaming. Anyway, I'm too addicted. I can't come up with a good reason to give them up, and lots of good reasons to keep checking in (even though some days, it can turn into a massive waste of time!).

Hi BJ :)
It's funny that you should mention forums - tomorrow I'm writing out a seminar on this very topic and will be holding a workshop in January on how you can benefit from utilizing forums! I just thought it was coincidental that I should see your post tonight :) I personally believe that if you watch forums for posts related to your biz, and can offer some great advice, it's one of the easiest ways to establish yourself as the expert - so, my opinion is, keep on roamin!!
