Synchronicity ... and Web Hosting

December 12, 2004

It's been quite a whirlwind fall and winter for me so far. Too much work, and a nasty virus that keeps coming back.

About three months ago, I was researching Web hosts. I had decided on Dreamhost, based on a recommendation from someone whose opinion I trusted, but then life got in the way and I just never seemed to have the time to sign up for an account.

I've been contracting out Web design work, and as a result, Teli and BlogMoxie are in the process of completing sites for me. My husband and I already have an account at FutureQuest (great service, highly recommended, but a bit pricey if you need to have lots of sites), but I wanted to host these new sites at Dreamhost.

So yesterday, I finally scooted over there - and discovered that Dreamhost is having a December sale! Their Code Master service (which was the package I'd already decided I wanted) is on sale, for 50% off if you sign up in December. You also get your bandwidth tripled, too, if you sign up for any of their packages.

But the best part of the deal is that the special Code Master price, and the tripled bandwidth, applies for as long as you maintain the account!

It felt like such synchronicity - kind of an early Christmas president. I'd been a bit frustrated because the workload and this cold bug has been keeping me from doing all the things I have on my list - but it turns out the delay has worked out in my favor.

So anyway, if you're looking for a Web host, check out Dreamhost - they seem to offer a lot of the bells and whistles, and the price is pretty hard to beat right now.
