Checking My Stats ... Checking My Stats

December 29, 2004

Is it just me? I've been sitting here working on a goal plan for 2005 (I'm one of those people who love to think about goals - writing them down, visualization, the whole nine yards - but really what I need is to  do a Nike and Just Do It). You know - a comprehensive plan that will pull my distracted "bit of this, bit of that" together into something that will get me where I want to go.

And I realized that I spend an awful lot of time doing needless stats checking.

At one point, I was even compulsively jotting down different stats in a daily journal that I bought specifically for this purpose.

Need I say more?

If I tallied up all the time I spent obsessively checking my stats hour on the hour ...

how many more sites/pages would I have now???

So on my list of things not to do for 2005 - stop checking my stats needlessly.

Is this just me, or does it afflict others, too?

I totally agree, I am so bad about checking stats, esp. affiliate commission stats. This will be one of my goals for the new year - to just check once per day and spend more time doing actions that will LEAD to sales!
