Forum Posting Made Easier

November 12, 2004

I've just downloaded a Firefox extension that makes forum posting a lot easier. Called BBCode, it allows you to insert different BBCode as you're writing your posts. Select your text, and then right click, and you can add the code for bolding or underlining, among other things.

You can also copy an URL to your clipboard, then as you're posting, use the clipboard feature to insert the URL with the proper BBCode around it.

And if you like those smilies (I love smilies and wish I could use them in this blog), the BBCode menu includes smilies! Right click, then select the one you want.

So, if you're addicted to forums the way I am, this is definitely an extension you'll want to try out if Firefox is your primary browser. (And I'd highly recommend you try Firefox out if you haven't yet.)

(BBCode also works to insert HTML and XHTML, but I haven't tried this part of it out yet.)
