Firefox 1.0 Installation
November 10, 2004
Well, I just installed Firefox 1.0 and it's working great ... except I've lost a LOT of handy extensions that I've gotten so used to using, plus my theme!
At least it looks like Firefox will keep searching for updates of the extensions I've lost. I should have waited, I guess, before I upgraded. Give people more time to update their extensions.
Live and learn.

Hi BJ,
Firefox 1.0 is pretty dern nifty. Regarding your extension/themes, you can go to http://update.mozilla.org/extensions/ or http://update.mozilla.org/themes/ to look through the different extensions and themes, I've been able to recover all but 4 of my extensions (those 4 I can live without - one simply changed the name of firefox to something else like fireturtle, etc. - I really liked it though).
Also, there are a couple of really cute themes out there too (one that I especially like is http://www.tom-cat.com/mozilla/firefox.html)
And then, you can get creative and do a google search for "firefox 1.0 themes" or extensions, you may be surprised what you find :).
Hope I've spread some sunshine in your day.

Thanks, Teli. I did search for updates but it doesn't look like the extensions I've been using have been updated yet. But I'm hoping they will be soon! I guess it's time to look for new extensions, too.
