Three Strikes - aka Clearing Out My InBox

I've been getting a bit tired lately of the various Internet marketing newsletters I'm subscribed to. I think it's getting out of hand - it feels like most of them are nothing but thinly disguised pitches for yet another Internet marketing product that I simply must have (or risk getting left behind with the masses).
I'm starting to feel like staying behind with the masses may not be such a bad thing. Especially if it means not having to read yet another waste-of-my-time piece of mail.
Anyway, I'm going to do a clean-up. Often I end up deleting lots of stuff unread, but in the next few heavy-workload days, when I'm taking breaks, I'm going to go through all my newsletters. My Internet marketing mailbox is filled with them, some a month old.
I've decided to apply the three strikes rule.
Each time a newsletter delivers nothing but affiliate links and rah-rah-rah promotion with lots of "I can't believe he's selling the secret of the ages for only $497" (neither do I) and "you won't believe the money that will flood your mailbox" (ditto), it gets a strike. Three strikes, and I hit that unsubscribe link.
I'm not saying I don't want to get the affiliate links and the product plugs. Actually, I like keeping on top of the latest product offerings out there. But there are lots of smart marketers who know how to deliver their money-making links nested within words that actually create something of value for me, the reader.
Also, I do get tired of reading the same or similar message about the exact same product from 21 different people.
I just want to start making sure the good newsletters are the only newsletters I receive from now on. My time is pretty limited, but when I hit select all and then delete, I always worry that I may be throwing out some gold with the bath water.
I'll post later the names of the newsletters that are the keepers.
