Rich Dad Poor Dad - A Sign!

October 27, 2004

I bought a copy of Rich Dad Poor Dad about a month ago, but then the work avalanche happened and I haven't had a chance yet to sit down and read it.

So this past weekend, when I was finally able to take a break, I looked for it in the bookshelf in the living room, where I was sure it was.

Couldn't find it.

I basically shrugged and thought to myself, "it'll turn up". We are book-crazy in this household, and in addition to a library we also have bookshelves lining the upstairs hallway. Nothing is really all that organized, and the thought of finding my Rich Dad Poor Dad needle in this particular haystack just made me want to lie in bed with some good fiction paperback instead.

But just now I finished doing some forum browsing, visiting all my favorite forums on the Net and catching up on posts.

And the astounding thing was the number of people who, in their various posts, all on different threads, in all sorts of different forums, mentioned reading Rich Dad Poor Dad and how it affected their lives.

Not to mention the book also came up in one of the interviews in Success Alerts, a wonderfully inspirational ebook I bought (and rapidly consumed) over the weekend.

I think I'd better go head over to this particular haystack and start looking for that needle. The Universe is trying to tell me something ...

Hi BJ,

I would say that 'Rich Dad Poor Dad'and 'The E-Myth Revisited' were the two books that ultimately led me to start a business. To say that they changed my life would be an understatement. My life has changed DRASTICALLY in so many ways from the clothes that I wear to the neigborhood I live in. I no longer have to chew my nails down worrying about what the future holds. It should be required reading in schools I reckon.

My brother-in-law, with whom I've started a couple of businesses - one of which is still going pretty well after five years and the other of which is not doing well at all - gave me a copy of Rich Dad Poor Dad a few months ago.

As a general rule I have no time at all for such books reckoning that the only people who get rich out of them are those who write them. While it's true that passive income from earning assets such as real estate is nice work if you can get it, the problem for most people is getting on that ladder in the first place. That said, now that Declan has given Rich Dad the thumbs up, I'll definitely pull it out and have a read.

How're things, BJ?

I have seen this book and always wanted to pickup a copy myself. I myself enjoyed reading "Multiple Streams of Online Income" by Robert Allen
