Has My Site Been Indexed?
October 06, 2004
Just a quick post (really! I promise). I just ran across this great tip on checking to see if your site has been indexed (courtesy of High Rankings Adviser, another newsletter that gets its own special mailbox in my Eudora).
Up until now, I've been doing the "site:" search at Google but this is much quicker. You need to be in Internet Explorer, though, and have the Google toolbar downloaded.
To see if the page you're on has been indexed, just right click anywhere on the page and select "cached snapshot of page". Google will either show you the version in its cache, along with the date the spider found the page, or else it will return a "this page not found" page.
This is a "new to me" tip, anyway. As a faithful Firefox user, I can't say that I've really run the Google toolbar through its paces that often.
