Review: Paul Short's Blogger's Edge

I have a copy of Paul Short's free ebook, Blogger's Edge, sitting in front of me right now. This is an amazing free resource - Paul has packed so much information in 12 pages. No hype, no fluff. Just solid tips and advice based on his personal blogging experiences.
Paul owns Get Blogs! - it's a great place to list your blog. I find that I get traffic to this blog from his directory every day.
Paul gives some good advice in Blogger's Edge. One important point he drives home is that blogging should not be used in a short-sighted manner. You need to be blogging because you want to be, and not just for the potential profit. He points out that blogs can be profitable, but that's more of a longer-range plan. The main thing is that a blog can be a very powerful marketing tool, when used properly.
In addition to advice on how to write your posts from an SEO perspective, and ways to use your RSS/XML newsfeed feature, Paul includes some great tips on driving traffic to your blog. I've learned quite a few things - including (finally!) how to use that little Trackback feature! (Thanks, Paul)
I was also pleased to see that Paul has got something major in the works for bloggers. I will definitely be watching out for the latest news from Get Blogs about his future plans.
I've been finding blogging to be very enjoyable, personally - addictive, almost. While I'm using this blog mostly as a self-motivation tool, and also as a place where I can chatter on about my thoughts on Internet marketing (which no-one in my everyday life understands at all, so without this blog, I'd feel pretty lonely ...), I do have plans for a few other blogs that will supplement the content sites I hope to create.
I could write more about this book, but you might as well just download it and see for yourself. All in all, this invaluable little ebook is a good addition to your library of Internet marketing resources.

One important thing I'll point out here is that I would never have known about your post had I not run across your little animated headline thingy you got from FeedBurner. It's a very simple yet powerful tool to tote around with you and include in your message board posts or wherever you interact with others online.
It's really nice also to see that my report is actually helping people and it's information is being applied.
