Finding Affiliate Programs - A Definite Brainstorming Tool

A brief progress report on my journey through the Affiliate Marketers Handbook. I've been spending time today finding affiliate programs, and all I can say is, I am amazed at the number of merchants out there, and the variety of products that are available for an affiliate marketer to market online.
Since I was looking around anyway, I decided not to restrict myself to looking only for affiliate programs for the three ideas I have. Good call on my part!
I've been making lists like crazy, and jotting down ideas to research at Wordtracker later. It will be hard narrowing down my ideas, even after I run them through Wordtracker (I'm assuming I will be able to find some niches in there - right now, all I can think is, how can I not find niches?)
Some of the merchants offer quite low commissions but there are a lot who offer decent percentages. And even the ones that offer low commissions can spark new ideas - I can't tell you how many times I thought to myself, "Now, that's a good category ... I wonder if I can find a better merchant ...?"
I need to figure out a way to keep track of all these different ideas and different lists. James Martell provides a pretty decent Keyword Management type of worksheet with the Affiliate Marketers Handbook, and I think I can expand on it and customize it to include a few other things.
My Brainstorming Tools list has definitely been updated. If I ever find myself short on ideas, or in need of some inspiration, searching through the different affiliate networks and directories, and Googling for "Affiliate program" now heads my list of things to do.
